Mental Health Ministry Network Workshop

Mission San Diego de Alcalá has been invited to become part of the Diocesan Mental Health Ministry Network. The cornerstone of the network is the formation of ministry teams to:

– serve as “prayer companions” for fellow parishioners experiencing mental illness;
– provide them with referrals;
– walk with them through the treatment process; and
– provide parish-wide education on the subject of mental illness.

On Wednesday, February 25th, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, the Diocesan Social Ministry Office staff and members of the Mental Health Working Group will lead a workshop in the California Room. This will include a short video, a reflection on the diocesan vision for the network and discussion of the qualifications and responsibilities expected of parish mental health ministry team members.
