Memorial Day Mass at the Mission
05/29/20179:00 am - 9:45 am
There will be one Mass Monday, Memorial Day, at 9 am.
Memorial Day, first observed in May 1868 as Decoration Day, started as an event to honor Union soldiers who had died during the American Civil War. It was inspired by the way people in the Southern states honored their dead.
After World War I, it was extended to include all men and women who died in any war or military action and became an official federal holiday in 1968 when the Uniform Holidays Bill was passed.
Please join us at 9 a.m. in the Mission church Monday, Memorial Day. There will be music, songs and a procession of U.S. Military Service Flags as we honor our deceased veteran.
The Parish Office will be closed Monday, May 29.
The Gift Shop will be open with regular hours.
