What is it?

The Festival of the Bells is our largest, most important event of the year as it commemorates the founding of our beautiful and historic church 247 years ago.   There are opportunities for everyone to get involved and to participate. This event is for people of all ages.

The festivities include several food booths, live entertainment, games and bounce houses for the kids, and a full bar cantina for the adults.

Other highlights include: – The Blessing of the Bells which is the only time all year that all five Mission bells are rung, including the original bell dating back to 1802 – A private Garden Party with Bishop McElroy- Dancing to The Legends on Saturday night – The Anniversary Mass with the full choir … and… – The Blessing of the Animals

The Festival of the Bells is a great community-building event and we hope to see you there!

Highlights for the Weekend

Antiques and Collectibles Booth

We are now accepting donations of gently used antique furniture and collectible items for this new, fun booth at this years Festival. (Some items may be auctioned off). To ensure the quality of the item/s to be donated, send a photo or a detailed description of the item/s to: frpeter@missionsandiego.org

Please include approximate value and suggested resale price. There will NOT be a White Elephant Booth this year.
