A Prayer From Pope Francis:
“All powerful God, You are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty. Fill us with peace, that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one. Oh God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of the earth, so precious in your eyes. Bring healing to our lives, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction. Touch the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the earth. Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation, to recognize that we are profoundly united with every creature as we journey towards your infinite light. We thank you for being with us each day. Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love and peace.” Laudato Si (178)

"The Lord God then took the man and settled him in the Garden of Eden, to cultivate and care for it." (Genesis 2:15)
"And the King will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'” (Mat 25:40)
What We Can Do: Become Disciples of Christ. “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples” (Jn 13:34). Let us always strive to treat one another with dignity and respect as all are made in the image of our Creator. For those interested in learning more and/or participating in social action opportunities such as our parish, diocesan, or regional care ministries or supporting and/or participating in food, clothing and blood drives please see the social action links below.
In addition, all are called to be good stewards of the environment. Small acts can go a long way in this effort to care for creation. Simply reducing and properly managing your waste can positively impact the environment and promote a healthy and beautiful community in which we live, work, and play. To learn more please see the city and county links below. For those interested in getting involved, see volunteer opportunities within our city, county, state and federal parks and recreation areas. And don't forget to visit our Parish ministries' links on this website as well.
